SPORTY EXTERIOR: DYNAMIC – ALL ROUND.

The exterior of the BMW i3 communicates sportiness from the very first glance. Dual-colour painted surfaces and short projecting edges are a model of modern design. The optional sports package highlights the exterior with numerous details. For example, with 20” light-alloy wheels in Jet Black or Bicolor and larger track width to impressively bring self-confident sportiness onto the road. The sports suspension lowered by ten millimetres and the aeroflap sill on the sides complete the dynamic look.

SPACIOUS INTERIOR: COMPLETE WITH INTEGRATED FREE SPACE.

The unique and spacious interior of the BMW i3 is palpable after just a single glance through the opened coach doors. The open, inviting design makes entry and loading simple and comfortable – without disregarding safety, since the closed doors assume the protective function of the B-pillar.

FRONT: FASCINATING AT THE FIRST GLANCE.

The BMW i3 has "dynamic" written all over it. Its standard U-shaped LED headlights flank the symbol of the brand: the closed kidney. Below them, the bumper visually stretches out the front of the vehicle with large design turn signal lights and lends them an extremely powerful expressiveness in doing so.

REAR: SPORTINESS TO THE POINT.

The diffuser-like rear bumper measures 40 millimetres and dominates the width of the rear. Positioned on the glazed tailgate, the letterings 'eDrive' and 'i3' are shifted outwardly and furthermore underline the sporty and solid stance. The logo with BMW i blue accents accentuate the characteristic black belt and highlight once more the evident sportiness.

A-PILLAR: THE GREATEST EFFECT IS IN THE DETAILS.

Selected accents round out every appearance. The BMW i3 demonstrates this in its purest form. The A-pillar and the roof pillars in black high-gloss with a trim strip in Chrome matt are examples of these fine details. They emphasise the innovative design of the vehicle and lend it a certain elegance.

FRONT HEADLIGHTS: BEAMING PRESENCE.

From the daytime running lights to the indicators, right up to the low-beams and high-beams, all of the headlight functions save more energy thanks to LED technology. The LED headlights feature automatic light range regulation and increased visibility at night and in bad weather conditions thanks to excellent illumination with a light colour similar to daylight. The sports suspension lowered by ten millimetres and the aeroflap sill on the sides complete the dynamic look.

REAR HEADLIGHTS: TURN NIGHT INTO DAY.

The LED rear lights in BMW i typical U-shape look include tail light, stop light and indicators. The lights provide good visibility even in poor visibility conditions and extend from the sides of the body to the glazed tailgate. Reversing lights, rear fog light and reflectors are integrated in the bumper.

CARBON ROOF: MORE LIGHTNESS. MORE AGILITY.

As part of BMW's intelligent lightweight construction, the carbon roof made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) helps to reduce the car's mass, and shifts the car's centre of gravity lower. This leads to an increase in agility and dynamics when taking a bend, accelerating and braking.

SPORTS PACKAGE: DYNAMICS ON THE LOWDOWN.

The sports package underlines the dynamics of the BMW i3. It comprises 20" light-alloy wheels with double spoke style in bicolor or optionally jet black with mixed tyres, a sports suspension with vehicle lowering by 10 mm, wide wheel arch trims and aeroflap sills on the sides, each in glossy black.

RANGE, CHARGING & EFFICIENCY

The BMW i3 has everything you need to combat the challenges of modern mobility – and to outmatch them in silence. It charges 80% of its high-voltage battery at a quick-charging station in just 42 minutes. Its intelligent energy management makes it flexible and highly efficient, both in city traffic and on longer trips.

Getting ahead has never been so easy: the BMW i3 can cover 260 kilometres in a day with its extended range. The new high-performance battery now supplies the electric engine with even more energy – and you get even more electric  driving pleasure.

 

THE ORIGIN OF ELECTRIFYING DRIVING PLEASURE.

From the chassis to the passenger cell – the intelligent combination of driving and lightweight components enables the unparalleled dynamics of the BMW i3. Thanks to the fully-electric drive train BMW eDrive, the BMW i3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The BMW i3s sprints even faster, with 6.9 seconds. The electric engine of the BMW i3 with a performance of 170 hp and a torque of 250 Nm provides emission-free driving pleasure for up to 260 km. At the same daily range, the BMW i3s has 184 hp and a torque of 270 Nm. The Life module describes the modern passenger cell made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). Also often referred to as carbon, this material is not just particularly light but also stronger and more resilient than steel. The low weight and low-lying centre of gravity boost both agility and range.

 

HOW QUICKLY CAN I CHARGE THE BMW i3?

With an impressive 3.7 seconds to go from 0 to 60 km/h, a typical one-pedal feeling, and its progressive design, it unleashes the dynamics of a sports car. Emotions under electric current are experienced with every metre.

SHORTCUT SPORTINESS

Wider: the front spoiler, including high-gloss bumper covering. More sporty: black wheel wells and exclusive 20" light alloy wheels with a new rim design. More characteristic: the rear, with sharpened contours and 40 millimetre-wide track. Even more fast-paced and emotional: driving in the BMW i3s.

From 0 to 100: the BMW i3s manages it in just 6.9 seconds. And opens up completely in just the first few metres. Thanks to the engine’s maximum torque of 270 Nm and 184 hp (135 kW) of power. Thrillingly agile and powerful up to a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

Maximally sporty, maximally electrifying: The BMW i3s combines excellent driving dynamics with the most modern technology. The new-designed Automatic Stability Control (ASC) works more quickly and provides more traction and stability while acceleration and braking. The optimized Dynamic Traction Control (DCT) is now even available in turns and up to a speed of 100 km/h and more. More sporty driving dynamics offers the SPORT driving mode. If the driver steps on the accelerator, then the BMW i3s will react more quickly and more directly if the battery charge is sufficient. Furthermore, the sport steering with a correspondingly adapted steering torque and the sport suspension, lowered by ten millimetres, increase agility.

 

UNIQUE CHARACTER – IN ALL ITS FACETTS.

Individuality can be expressed in many ways. Just like the modern colour schemes of the BMW i3, which includes six brilliant colours. For example elegant Imperial Blue and powerful Melbourne Red, both with a highlight in Frozen Grey metallic. Colours that thrill with clarity and luminance. First available is the classy colour Jucaro beige. The fitting 19” and 20” light alloy wheels with various rim designs enhance the progressive appearance.
